Science journalism awards

  • NASW Science in Society Journalism Awards
  • For investigative or interpretive reporting about the sciences and their impact for good and bad, especially the kind of critical, probing work that would not receive an award from an interest group. Cash prizes of $2,500 for writing judged best in each of three categories: books, periodicals, and electronic media.

  • Evert Clark/Seth Payne Award for Young Science Journalists
  • To encourage young science writers by recognizing outstanding reporting and writing in any field of science. The winner will receive $1,000 and expenses to attend the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
