How to post home pages using Fetch and Interarchy

1. You will need an ftp client program such as Anarchie (now called Interarchy) or Fetch to upload your pages to your site. These shareware programs are available from the following web sites:
• Interarchy (formerly Anarchie)
• Fetch: homepage at Dartmouth College
2. If you don't have a permanent connection to the Internet, you will need to dial up your service provider. Once you are connected, double-click on either Fetch or Interarchy to launch it.
3. In Fetch, select New Connection from the File menu (or a shortcut from the shortcut menu once you've saved the nasw.org configuration). In Interarchy, select FTP Listing... from the File menu, or click FTP on the floating "wand".
4. These are the correct settings to use in Fetch or (Interarchy):
Host (Server) is: nasw.org
User ID (Username) is: Your NASW username
Password is: Your NASW password
Directory (Path) (leave blank)

Note that the user id and password are case-sensitive

(You can save these commands as a Bookmark in Interarchy, or as a shortcut in Fetch — look in the Customize menu in the screentop menubar).
5. You can then place pages on your web site using the Put command in Fetch or the Upload... command in Interarchy's Listing menu. The best bet is to FTP everything as Raw Data. (Interarchy selects this format automatically; in Fetch, you can default to this by setting your preferences in the Customize menu.)
6. To delete a file you've posted, highlight it in the directory list window, and then select Delete Directory or File from Fetch's Remote menu, or Delete from Interarchy's Listing menu.
7. You can either close your Internet connection when you're done or (highly recommended) switch to your browser to verify that your pages look right.
