ScienceWriters workshop proposals due March 10

We rely on you to help us develop offerings that are relevant to you and your peers. Propose a session on professional development or issues in the field of science writing for the 2009 annual meeting.

Sessions are typically 75-90 min long, with any level of interactivity you specify, so send us your ideas by Wednesday, March 10, 2009. Organizers are responsible for lining up speakers and either moderating or finding a moderator for the session. In return for your hard work, you receive free NASW workshops registration.

To submit a proposal, email:

Name and Affiliation of Organizer E-mail Address Telephone Description of the proposed workshop and format (maximum 300 words) to workshops@nasw.org by March 10, 2009.

While we realize that applicants cannot pre-book speakers, preference will be given to those proposals with clear thought toward, and connection to, proposed speakers. Applicants are encouraged to think broadly about sources of speakers, seeking experts where possible and thinking about those whose expertise complements the field of science writing. Funding is available for speaker travel.
