Welcome! Okay, I’m a science writer. I've interviewed Nobel-laureate molecular biologists, senators, Bill Gates, submariners and the presidents of a zillion tech startups. I've hung out at bio labs, stormbound research vessels, congressional hearings and a meeting on military space tricks that was later declared classified. I've trained journalists and public information officers. I've made spectacularly inaccurate predictions. And I've built very successful publications, websites, videos and e-learning materials.

Most recently, I ran many public affairs programs for Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research. Working with talented staff, designers and video producers, I published an award-winning magazine, videos, annual reports and a built-on-a-shoestring 25th anniversary website. Previously, I was editor of MIT's technologyreview.com and executive editor at PC World, the world’s most widely read computer magazine.

And I'm always on the lookout for challenging projects that tell stories about advances in science, technology and medicine.
