PROGRAMMING EXPERIENCE

- I handled some direct editing of www.dukemednews.org and was responsible
for working with the design subcontractor to manage the main portion of
the site.
- I am comfortable working in Windows 3.X through XP, Apple Systems through Max OS X and Unix environments.
- I am familiar with all Microsoft programs, including high-level Excel and Word applications.
- I am familiar with online PR services including Cision, Profnet and EurekAlert.
- I took coursework in Web site design and programming at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
GRAPHICS EXPERIENCE
- I designed the graphics that enhance the appearance of this Web site
and previous iterations of my personal Web sites (see Google caches or
e-mail me for examples). My first Web site was created in 1997.
- I am proficient in the use of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. I
first learned to create graphics and use images to effectively
communicate information with the software program Canvas as a
graduate student in 1996.
- I am experienced in digital photography and editing digital pictures.
- I can create and edit original documents in Adobe Acrobat.
- I have experience in processing satellite imagery to extract
information about local geology and using the UNIX-based open source
program GMT to produce illustrations.
