I am a freelance science writer in Seattle. I write news and features that cover many biological sciences, especially neuroscience, genetics, microbiology, and infectious disease. Sometimes my work touches on other sciences — for example, when sugar molecules are discovered in outer space or when engineers use photonics to diagnose malaria.
I have written for
Nature,
New Scientist,
BioScience,
ScienceNOW,
The Scientist,
Environmental Health Perspectives, and
The Lancet Infectious Diseases,
among others.
My current favorite topics include circadian rhythms, symbiotic microorganisms, forensic applications of genetic technologies, and anything to do with dogs.
