About me
I am a
freelance writer with experience reporting on science, health, and the environment.
I've written newspaper and magazine articles, short-format radio shows,
fact sheets, peer-reviewed scientific papers, and text for CD software.
Recent clients include the Earth & Sky radio series, Living Bird magazine,
MathSoft, Inc., The Italian Trade Commission, Cornell Plantations Magazine,
and the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory.
My writing is grounded with a solid background in biological concepts--I'm a trained biologist with a MS in Zoology and a BA in Biology. After finishing my MS, I pursued a writing career while working as a science and technical writer at Cornell University. Because of my background in research and biology, I'm most interested in translating important science and environmental topics for a lay audience.
As
a writer and biologist, my aim is to help increase public understanding
of science and technology, especially environmental and public health issues.
