Writing:
Robin writes accurately and engagingly for a variety of audiences, including the general public, scientists, high school students and children. Her work includes features, news, newsletters, profiles, research synopses, research roundups, press releases and web content.
Editing:
Robin is a skilled editor at a range of levels, from copyediting to rewriting and reorganizing.
She has edited a wide range of materials, including annual reports, FAQs, field guides, grant proposals, institutional histories, scientific meeting reports, scientific publications, web content and workshop curriculum materials.
She is also handy with HTML, LaTeX and Wikipedia markup languages; editing images in Picasa; and editing sound in Audacity.
Project management:
Robin coordinates and edits work from multiple authors to prepare a cohesive final product on time. She has worked as a project manager and editor for the California Native Grasslands Association (CNGA), the Society for Conservation Biology (SCB) and the University of California.
Projects she has managed include CNGA's Guide to Visiting California's Grasslands and SCB's Conservation Biology FAQ. She also was the special editor of Biological diversity: What is it and why do we care?, a special issue of the University of California journal California Agriculture.
