Vetting "citizen journalism" at the BBC
Anybody can post anything to a social media site, so how does a news organization verify that a photo, video, or other account is authentic? At the BBC, that job falls to a 20-person team called the Hub, David Turner writes in Nieman Reports: "The golden rule, say Hub veterans, is to get on the phone whoever has posted the material.
