Why introverts can master elocution

"I am a great demonstration of what training and practice can do for public speakers with an introverted streak," Denise Graveline writes in a post on her Don't Get Caught blog. Graveline deconstructs five myths about introverts and public speaking: "One of the biggest myths of all in public speaking is that some people are 'natural' or 'born' speakers and that the rest can't learn. In reality, everyone who wishes to be a speaker needs to learn and practice the skill."

RE: Why introverts can master elocution

I was always the introvert, terrified of public speaking. I forget what, but something forced me to speak at local association's meeting. Since then I've spoken to all sorts of audiences: people at a local Apple store where I've given lunch lectures on how to drive people to YOUR website, to national conferences.

Now one of my "jobs" is hosting a radio show offering tips to small business owners and entrepreneurs. Last year I hosted a great coach, Eileen Sinnett, who discussed Overcoming Public Speaking Fears.
