Pitch Publish Prosper launches on the NASW website today

Pitch Publish Prosper, the online resource for The Science Writers' Handbook and its companion books, The Science Writers’ Essay Handbook and The Science Writers’ Investigative Reporting Handbook, is now hosted on the NASW website. Run by a diverse group of 31 science writers, Pitch Publish Prosper offers timeless advice on a variety of topics relevant to new and practicing science writers. The extensive content will be available to members and visitors.

Students cover science at AAAS

Ten NASW Undergraduate Travel Fellows to AAAS got a taste of covering sessions at a scientific conference at this year's AAAS meeting in Washington, D.C. (Look for their coverage in the next issue of Desk Notes.) Since 2007, NASW has awarded financial support and mentorship to nearly 130 budding science communicators through its undergraduate travel program.

News from AAAS: Together with leading academic and professional societies, NASW is one of 53 inaugural members of the Societies Consortium on Sexual Harassment in STEMM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine).
 

#Scicomm diversity fellowships offered

Students and early-career professionals from underrepresented groups who intend to complete summer internships are invited to apply for NASW’s Diversity Fellowship by March 29. Three talented applicants will receive $5,000 and a one-year complimentary membership to NASW. Please spread the word!
