Will scientists embrace policy debate?

The Pew Research Center has released more results from its survey of 3,748 American-based scientists, this time showing that a strong majority (87%) think they should engage in public policy debates. However, almost as many (79%) "believe it is a major problem for science that news reports don’t distinguish between well-founded and not well-founded scientific findings."
