CASW TRAVEL FELLOWSHIPS AWARDEDThe Council for the Advancement of Science Writing has awarded 10 CASW Travel Fellowships for the 2002 New Horizons Briefing in Science. This is the l7th year CASW has provided fellowships to science writers at small newspapers and media outlets who would not otherwise be able to attend the meeting. This year the meeting is hosted by Washington University in St. Louis. The travel fellowships are underwritten by a grant from the Burroughs Wellcome Fund. The 10 fellows are: Mary Beckman, freelance, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Charles Choi, freelance writer, ScienceNow, N.Y.; Margaret Willig Crane, freelance, New York, N.Y.; Kimbra Cutlip, associate editor, Weatherwise magazine; Eran Karmon, freelance, Science, Berkeley, Calif.; Lisa Klink, freelance, Internet and newspapers; Cement City, Mich.; Stephen Leahy, freelance for many small magazines, Brooklin, Ontario, Canada; Laura Pierce, editor, Courier-Times, Sedro-Wooley, Wash. |
