All details for NASW activities at the 1998 AAAS meeting in Philadelphia will be included in the dues bill to be mailed December l5th. NASW workshops (2/11-13/98) will be $35 including lunch on Thursday. You will be required to check off workshops you wish to attend and to prepay. Banquet (Saturday 2/14/98 at the Franklin Institute) will be $45 again for prepaid reservations or $55 at the door. NASW Business meeting will take place 2/l4 at 4pm. A related organization, Agricultural Communicators in Education (ACE),
is seeking qualified peer judges to offer thoughtful critiques of entries
for its 1998 awards program. Last years competition had over 400 entries
participating in 46 categories including: Writing, Photography, Graphic
Design, Publications, Electronic Media-Radio, Electronic Media-Television,
Distance Education and Instructional Design, Information Campaign, Information
Technology, and Research.
Judges receive a $10 stipend per judged entry. Gold, silver, bronze, and
best of class awards are given. A short professional background summary
is needed to link prospective judges to the correct class category. For
