I'd also like to thank the many hosts and sponsors who helped make
the Boston visit memorable. They include MIT, the Whitehead Institute
for Biomedical Research, the Knight Science Journalism Fellowships,
the Charles Stark Draper laboratories, Biogen, Boston University,
Harvard Medical School, Technology Boston University hosted a delightful reception at which we presented the NASW Science-in-Society awards. Thanks for Carol Morton and Beryl Benderly for overseeing the awards committee, and to the many others who served as judges for the various awards. Thanks to Richard Saltus, Seema Kumar, Carol Halim, who put together an outstanding party for NASW members on Sunday night during AAAS. And thanks to Nan Broadbent and AAAS for their awards reception on
Friday night, and the karaoke party on Saturday night. For those of
you who weren't The next issue of ScienceWriters will contain biographies of candidates for the NASW board and officer slots. If you're interested in running for the board, please send me an e-mail by May 1. I will refer the names of those who are interested to the nominating committee, which will select the candidates.
