EIGHT NASW MEMBERS NAMED MBL FELLOWS IN SCIENCE WRITING

Eight out of nineteen of the 1999 Science Writing Fellowships at the Marine Biological Laboratory are NASW members. In its fourteenth year, the MBL's Science Writing Fellowship Program offers print and broadcast journalists and editors an opportunity to "step into the shoes of the people they cover" by awarding them fellowships to study basic biomedical and environmental science at the Woods Hole laboratory this summer.

NASW members participating in the biological science program are Lori Cuthbert, science news editor, Discovery Channel Online; Lisa Eckelbecker, business reporter, Worcester Telegram & Gazette; James Erickson, science reporter, Arizona Daily Star; John Miller, freelance medical and science reporter/producer; Barbara Moran, freelance science writer/producer; Noreen Parks, freelance science writer; Alexandra Witze, science writer, The Dallas Morning News. Participating in the environmental sciences program is Gretel Schueller, associate editor, Audubon magazine.
