CORRECTION

In the remembrance of Dic Sigerson (SW, Fall 2001) the word "policy" incorrectly replaced "polity" in the following paragraph:

Sigerson's mature work in our field was driven by a vision, that broad learning about discovery and invention, and the crafting of practical ethics to manage human ingenuity, were intertwined and compatible. In his view, industry shared with other leadership groups the responsibility to build "a well informed polity" on the biospheric plane, competent stewards of the earthly environment. He believed that the whole of this was the true substrate of science communications.

SW regrets the error and its over-reliance on software spell checkers.
