Yvonne Carts-Powell

Yvonne Carts-Powell writes about physical sciences and technology for magazines, newspapers, and websites; as well as for corporations and universities. She has had hundreds of news and feature articles published during her 15 years as a full-time science writer and editor. Her decades of experience provide her the background to quickly decipher concepts and technologies for lay and specialized audiences. She also provides technical editing, ghostwriting, and consulting for corporations and for universities.

Yvonne's latest book, The Science of Heroes (2008, Berkeley Press) examines the superpowers of characters in the NBC hit show, Heroes, then describes how current science makes some powers almost possible, and examines the problems with the less-likely ones. The book was such fun to write that she is continuing in the same vein, with a companion blog at The Science of Heroes blog.
