Here's my biography:

I was 14 when my only sibling, my older brother, Ted, died of aplastic anemia, a severe immune deficiency disorder. In my book The Empty Room: Surviving the Loss of a Brother or Sister at Any Age, I tell my story and the stories of some of the 77 bereaved siblings I interviewed. I have a masters degree in public health from Columbia University, and I write about science, health and society. My stories have appeared in The Washington Post, Self, Glamour, Health, Psychology Today and Harper’s Bazaar, among other publications.

Elizabeth lives and works in New York City with her husband, the writer Paul Raeburn.
