How scientists and journalists can improve coverage

Science and the Media, a new (and free) volume from the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, is the result of a series of workshops that considered ways to enrich Americans' engagement with science and technology.

Its authors discuss the roles of scientists, journalists, and public information officers in communicating about science and technology. They also look at the role the media play in boosting Americans' scientific literacy and how new digital media are changing the coverage (and consumption) of science news. Edited by Donald Kennedy and Geneva Overholser, contributors include NASW members Rick Borchelt, Lynne Friedmann, Earle Holland, Jon D. Miller, and Cristine Russell.
