Why aren't there more black science writers?

Danielle N. Lee poses that provocative question on a Scientific American blog. With the National Association of Black Journalists having just wrapped up its meeting, Lee offers some suggestions for that group to attract more minorities to science journalism. "National Association of Black Journalists meet National Association of Science Writers," she writes. "National Association of Science Writers meet National Association of Black Journalists."
