In case you missed it: SWINY panel on social media

Science Writers in New York (SWINY) recently hosted a panel discussion on social media. Social Media for Science Writers: Building Relationships, Building Business was intended to address questions such as What the hell is all of this stuff? How do I sort out which of these tools will benefit my career? and What does it all mean for science communications?

The panelists included Scott Dodd, web editor at the Natural Resources Defense Council; Judith Meskill, a self-described "social media evangelist"; Christie Nicholson, editor at Scientific American Online; Jay Rosen, professor of journalism at New York University; and Adnaan Wasey, web editor, The Takeaway, WNYC Radio.

Videos of each speaker are now available on YouTube, on the TalkingScience01 channel. TalkingScience is a nonprofit organization with a mission to "bring the latest discoveries, innovations and controversies in science and technology to a public that hardly ever sees them." It partners with Ira Flatow's Science Friday program. SWINY is the New York regional affiliate of NASW.
