A number of you raised concerns about unusually restrictive media policies for the upcoming Control of Influenza VI conference in Toronto, June 17-23, including plans to charge media a $675 admission fee.
We have made the conference organizers aware of our concern and I am happy to tell you that Dr. Nancy Cox, the CDC organizer of the conference, and the conference committee now have agreed to drop that media registration fee. The conference web site has been updated to reflect that change.
For those of you who may be considering whether or not to join NASW, please note that acceptable press credentials for the conference include a current NASW membership card.
