NASW issues statement in support of press credential ruling

The National Association of Science Writers joins many journalism organizations in supporting CNN and its reporter Jim Acosta, and in opposing the White House’s revocation of Acosta’s hard-pass credentials. We are heartened by the federal judge’s ruling today to return Acosta’s credentials, but are concerned that this issue may be far from over. It is essential to a free press that reporters be able to ask questions without retaliation from our elected leaders or from representatives of federal agencies. NASW stands with CNN and the rest of the journalism community in support of First Amendment freedoms.
