NASW signs Obama transparency letter

NASW has joined 40 journalism and open government organizations in sending an open letter to White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest in response to his recent New York Times letter to the editor touting the Obama administration's transparency.

Our open letter takes issue with Earnest, who wrote that journalists should “acknowledge steps that the Obama administration has taken to strengthen transparency.” With our colleagues, we counter that the problems of reduced transparency by the Obama administration “outweigh” what Earnest calls accomplishments.

Read the Society of Professional Journalists’ press release or the open letter directly, and share.
