This NASW Freelance Committee virtual meetup for June 2023 will focus on another topic of interest to the freelance science writer: apps as freelance business tools. To speak on the topic, your NASW member colleagues and volunteer event hosts Jennifer Huber and Ellen Kuwana have invited a strategy consult with a passion for leveraging technology to facilitate human workflows. Join Dawn McCarra Bass, serial app adopter, for an opinionated tour of digital tools that are good for business. We'll review some common and less-common apps and share strategies for choosing tools that fit your style, from time tracking to accounting to project management. Questions welcome and interruptions encouraged.

Invited Speaker:
Dawn McCarra Bass, radio quiet / Mightier collective

Speaker Provided Bio: "Dawn McCarra Bass is the owner of Seattle-based strategy firm radio quiet and co-founder of Mightier, a anti-network network where humans solve problems creatively, collectively. She helps nonprofits (and people) get unstuck with a mix of systems thinking, complexity-informed facilitation, and strategic silliness. She's an incorrigible adopter and abandon-er of new software and believes that humans are always > technology, no matter what the tech industry tells us."

Stick around after the guest talk for some virtual networking with fellow NASW colleagues. See you on June 1!
