An increasing number of clients are requiring freelancers to have business insurance. Some clients ask self-employed writers and editors for general liability insurance that can protect against physical accidents rather than the more potentially relevant professional liability E/O insurance that can cover mistakes in the work. Small business owners need to educate themselves on how to mitigate their growing legal risks.
The NASW Freelance Committee virtual meetup on July 2 will be a business chat on business insurance. To speak on the topic, volunteer event hosts Jennifer Huber and Ellen Kuwana have invited Jonathan Gray, Director of Benefits and Member Services at the Freelancers Union. Jonathan will explain the different types of business insurance, their pros and cons, how to find insurance providers, and other practical tips. And we’ll allow plenty of time for him to answer your questions.
A reminder that per NASW's Code of Conduct attendees must use their name as their Zoom display name in order to be admitted. Please review the code for additional expected behaviors.
