The first NASW Freelance Committee virtual meetup for 2023 will focus on that ever-important and timely topic of taxes and the freelance science writer. Your NASW member colleagues and volunteer event hosts Jennifer Huber and Ellen Kuwana have invited a Certified Public Accountant who specializes in tax and small business advisory practice, with a focus on tax compliance and planning for businesses and individuals.

Invited Speaker:
Mark Long, CPA, MS Tax, The Myers Associates, P.C.

Stick around after the guest talk for some virtual networking with fellow NASW colleagues. See you soon on Jan. 5!

Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to run your small business more efficiently? Or have you been afraid to jump into self-employment? There is a community here to support you. Starting on Jan. 5, the NASW Freelance Committee is launching a virtual meetup series held on the first Thursday of each month at 1 PM ET / 10 AM PT. Freelance writers, editors and other communicators will be able to educate themselves and ask experts questions in an informal, small-group setting.

Questions? Stop by to say hello to event hosts Ellen Kuwana and Jennifer Huber and to vote for your favorite topics for future events.
