Location:
Medill School of Journalism Chicago newsroom

The Chicago Science Writers invite NASW members to attend their upcoming event "The who, what, where, why, and how of off-label prescribing” on Wednesday, May 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Medill School of Journalism Chicago Newsroom. This panel will discuss the legal, ethical, and safety issues around off-label prescribing. You’ll learn what it means, how doctors determine which drugs to use off label, and how pharmaceutical companies view off-label use. You’ll also learn why the FDA recently agreed to let a small pharmaceutical company promote its drug off label – and what it means for the rest of the industry. The program will further highlight how professionals in law firms, medical communications, and pharmaceutical companies use science writing on a daily basis. The event is free, but attendees must RSVP using this link by May 17.
