In the past seven months, the National Association of Science Writers has awarded an additional five Idea Grants, totaling $67,000, bringing the total awarded since the grant program's inception one year ago this month to almost $140,000. Funding is provided by income from the Authors Coalition, and the grants are intended to help science writers in their professional lives or benefit the field of science writing.
Peggy Girshman Idea Grants
The NASW Peggy Girshman Idea Grants Committee has awarded $24,700 to five groups and individuals, using funds from NASW's Authors Coalition of America distributions.
We are pleased to announce the winners of the 2017-2018 Peggy Girshman Idea Grant program sponsored by the National Association of Science Writers. The Grants Committee received 20 applications in this round and awarded a total of $25,000 to four recipients.
