NASW’s PIO Committee is seeking proposals from NASW members interested in hosting, planning, organizing and conducting a regional workshop focused on professional development and networking for early-career PIOs, journalists transitioning to PIO roles, and generalist PIOs seeking more training in science communication.
NASW’s programs, awards and activities wouldn’t happen without more than 200 members who step up annually as volunteers. Each year, NASW recognizes a volunteer or volunteers who went beyond the call of duty with its Diane McGurgan Service Award. Shraddha Chakradhar and Ashley Smart are the 2019 recipients.
The National Association of Science Writers (NASW) is again sponsoring several exciting programs for student journalists during the AAAS meeting, being held next in Seattle, Washington.
The Grants Committee is currently seeking a new volunteer to join six returning members as it begins the annual award cycle.
The NASW Grants Committee is now accepting applications for 2019-2020 Peggy Girshman Idea Grants. Applications are due on Friday, November 22, 2019.
